Preparing for your Adventures

One of the most scary parts of planning a travel experience is simply knowing where and how to start. It can be overwhelming thinking of all the tasks leading up to your vacation.. But, if you break it down in bits and pieces and consider each step of the process as it's own fun activity, it can be a breeze. Throughout the vacation, trip, adventure planning process (whatever you want to call it!) try to always keep in mind why you're planning the getaway. This will help keep it lighthearted and fun!

There are also plenty of planning tools out there to utilize. We've teamed up with Expedia, Get Your Guide, and Amazon to direct travelers to helpful resources to get started. Or, check out our Etsy shop for our own Tracking Travels Planning Tools for more granular level tools to help get your planning started.

5 ways to plan for your next travel experience

1. Brainstorm & write down what you want to do.

Setting the mood early on can help you align your vacation to the experience you're looking for.

↓ In addition to Tracking Travels blog posts, Expedia has a list of activity packages you can browse through to prepare. ↓

2. Start your packing lists.

Packing lists seem monotonous, but they're the most simplified version of help!

3. Price out the various options.

Traveling doesn't have to be expensive. There are great tools out there to compare different hotel and flight options.

4. Maximize travel rewards.

There are many great credit card programs that can help to offset the cost of travel through their point system. ThChase Sapphire Preferred offers 3x cash back on dining and online grocery purchases, 2x on all travel, and 5x cash back on Chase Travel purchases. In addition, cash back can be claimed at a rate of 1.25x via the Chase Travel Portal and is able to be transferred to many travel partners. On top of all of that, each year you'll earn a 10% anniversary boost, meaning additional 10% cashback of the previous year's purchases. It's one of the best travel credit cards out there.

5. Lay out everything the day (week) before your departure.

The day before prepare your items, set aside the most important ones in a designated spot, and put your devices in their chargers. Again, a simple task that you'll be grateful for in the early morning rush to get out of the door.

Preparation makes it easier!

If you take away anything from this page know that preparation is key. The more time you spend up front planning, the less time you'll spend stressing about the small details later on. Ensure your plans are structured, yet flexible to make the most of your upcoming travel experience.
